Wat Pho (Temple Reclining Buddha), or Wat Phra Chetuphon, is one three main temples located in the Thai capital. It is located at 2 Sanam Chai Rd, Phra Borom Maha Ratchawang, Phra Nakhon, Bangkok 10200, Thailand, right behind the Temple Emerald Buddha.

This Reclining Buddha statue is gold plated, has a height of 15 meters and a length of 46 meters. The feet Buddha are 5 meters long and are beautifully decorated in pearl illustrations of laksanas (characteristic) pearls.

Here is the number 108, referring to 108 positive actions and symbols that help direct the Buddha to perfection.

To enter Wat Pho, you have to take off your shoes / sandals. If you want a little luck, it is advisable to buy a bowl of coins at the entrance of the hall which you can drop in the 108 bronze bowls that line the walls.

Dropping a dime makes a nice ringing sound and even if your wish doesn't come true, the money is used to help the monks renovate and preserve Wat Pho.

One more thing, as this is a place of respect, all visitors must wear appropriate clothing, no exposed shoulders or skin over the knees.
